"You can't kid a kidder" - try as I might, I couldn't put one over on Ken, he had been there, seen it, done it, half the time he'd invented it. He was a "man's man", he would kick your backside and leave a footprint for doing something "stoopid" then he'd take you for a drink and have you laughing in minutes like old mates, you couldn't be vexed with him. He thrived on talking and listening - he gave you advice if you asked for it, but it was straight up and if you didnt like it, well tough! (I guess that was the Aussie in him). That sums him up - tough love - he created managers, mentored, moulded, gave selflessly of his experience and self, he was tough but he loved even more. Countless dinners at Club St. Lucia, talk about the business, talk about my family then it was anecdote time, Natalie and Michelle this, Mark that, India, Africa, St Lucia 25 years ago, a true old school raconteur. He liked his work and his profession but he loved his family so much more, the twinkle in his eye, the swelling of his heart in pride everytime he talked, he grew me up! I hope they have a good Housekeeper in Heaven, or there will be trouble! Phil
