Funny memories

Dad always used to share the story about he walked in the snow for miles to go to school. Just a few weeks ago, I had to smile as I heard Dad sharing the same story with his Grandchildren. "You know boys, I can remember when I used to walk for 5 miles in the snow to get to school....." Dad, Terre and Mark came to visit while we lived in Austin. We went canoeing one afternoon. Nat and I were in one of the canoes, merrily rolling down the river until we heard a big splash and Dad and Terre were gone, in Lake Austin. The only person left standing in the boat was Mark. Mark was only about 4 at the time! Mom remembers a picnic in Fiji where Dad went running into the ocean with an audience of employees only to come running out without his trunks - I think there was a big wave involved. Dad told the story of an African President who he had prepared a banquet for. Specially bought and prepared lamb. With serving platters being passed around, the Chief though the trays were all for him and ate all the lamb! Horrified, Dad scrambled to remedy the situation and provide food for the rest of the guests.
